Richie Jones, of Mastic, NY, has been a friendly face at Church Farm School since 8th grade. He came to the school after hearing great things about the experience from his cousins, Kenny ’09 and Keita ’10 Rodgers. Since his father is a golf pro, we weren’t surprised that Richie would also be a stellar athlete (he is attending Howard University where he will play D1 golf and hopes to major in business), but he’s also an all-around great young man.
In addition to serving as the varsity golf team captain (he holds the top rank at CFS), earning the Coach's Award and BAL Award and going to the BAL finals for golf this year , he consistently is awarded academic honors and serves as a student ambassador, a prefect and student leader.
His cottage parent, Mr. Bala, has nothing but glowing things to say, too: “Richie, you have to be one of the nicest young men I have ever met. You're always smiling, always in a good mood … calm, polite and courteous. These qualities will carry you far in life. They are the skills employers look for, they can teach you what their organizations do. Keep doing what you are doing and being the great person that you are, there are good things out there for you!”
Richie says, “Being at CFS for 5 consecutive years, I think the best thing I have learned was brotherhood and being able to grow up with my fellow Griffin brothers. Next year, I am most excited about continuing to chase my dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur.”
