    Church Farm School Receives Grant from Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation

    Church Farm School was recently awarded a $100,000 grant through Oprah Winfrey’s Charitable Foundation for its Alumni Success Program, which will provide critical funding for three years. The school’s Alumni Success team maintains connections with 200 graduates quarterly and provides support, mentorship and guidance to help keep them on track. The program was launched in 2016 with seed funding from the Hamilton Family Foundation, the Church of the Redeemer and the Charter Foundation, and is already making a verifiable difference.

  • STEAM Program Builds at CFS with Help from Local Engineering Organizations

    This year, the CFS STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) Department is offering a new course entitled “Introduction to Engineering.” The course is open to 10th grade students who successfully completed the 9th grade Technology, Engineering and Design course and have expressed an interest in continuing to learn about engineering as a potential career. The aim of the course is to provide students with an authentic engineering experience by exposing them to professional simulation and analysis software. The course is taught by its creator, Jeff Andrews, a former Lockheed Martin engineer. Numerous local businesses are donating both software and consulting expertise to the course, including Bentley Systems, Analytical Graphics, Inc., McMahon Associates and Chester Valley Engineers. Additionally, the Scholler Foundation of Paoli and the VWR Charitable Foundation have funded the purchase of mini desktop computers and a drone imaging package.
