Former Employee Dan Rowley Arrest

July 27, 2021

Dear Members of the CFS Community,

Over the past year on several occasions, I have shared information about the arrest of former CFS faculty member, Marc Spera, and again on April 1, I wrote to report his conviction and sentencing for the sexual abuse of a CFS student during the 2008-2010 time period. I continue to admire the courage of this former student, now a young man, for bringing such a matter forward as painful as that must be.
Last summer, the CFS Board of Directors hired T&M USA (formerly T&M Protection Resources) to independently investigate the incidents that led to Mr. Spera’s arrest and conviction, and we have respectfully encouraged all former students and employees to come forward with any information pertinent to the conduct of Mr. Spera or any other CFS employee.

Today I report that as this independent investigative work is continuing, the arrest of a former CFS employee, Dan Rowley, was made on July 26, 2021, by the West Whiteland Police Department on charges relating to sexual abuse of a CFS student. Mr. Rowley was employed by CFS from 1990-2010. I appreciate this former student contacting authorities and deeply regret that another student may have suffered sexual abuse while attending the school years ago. We are cooperating with the authorities on this case.

If you have experienced or are aware of sexually abusive behavior by Mr. Rowley, or another former or current CFS faculty or staff member, I again respectfully ask you to please contact T&M USA at 646-445-7743 or by dedicated email churchfarm@tmprotection.com. Communications with T&M USA will be treated with utmost sensitivity.

Church Farm School remains committed to working through these difficult matters for the benefit of past, present, and future Church Farm School students and I am thankful for your support and patience during this time.

Sincerely yours,

N. Sherrill
