Michael Hankin Joins Church Farm School's Board of Directors
Church Farm School welcomes Michael Hankin, chief operating officer (COO) of Hankin Group, to its Board of Directors. Hankin Group, a leading commercial and residential developer, is a generous supporter of Church Farm School, a nonprofit which aims to subsidize the cost of its education for many of its students. As COO at Hankin Group, Michael oversees all operational and strategic functions and is responsible for the company’s multi-family division, Hankin Apartments. Prior to joining Hankin Group, Michael spent eight years in the financial professional services industry working for PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young. In addition to Church Farm School, Michael sits on the boards of the Chester County Economic Development Council and Handi-Crafters (Treasurer). He is a graduate of Virginia Tech University and a CPA, licensed in Pennsylvania.
“We are so grateful to the Hankin Group for their support of our students and our school, and most especially to Michael for being such a wonderful advocate of our work within the community,” says The Reverend Edmund K. Sherrill II, Church Farm School Head of School. “There is no doubt that he will be a tremendous asset to our Board of Directors.”
"Every time I visit Church Farm School I am truly amazed and inspired by the students,” Hankin says. “They are so motivated, ambitious and mature for their age. I am always blown away by the graduation rate and college acceptances at the school. I look forward to contributing to the school’s mission as a member of its board. ”
For the past five years, 100% of Church Farm School students have been accepted to four-year colleges and universities, many with substantial scholarships. In 2015, the school had both a QuestBridge Scholar (attending Princeton University) and a Gates Millennium Scholar (attending Swarthmore College).
