Zozi Flores Accepted to Brown

Zozi Flores ’17 knew that Church Farm School would be a great opportunity for him; his cousin Omar Vicente had attended and graduated in 2014. Zozi, who hails from Brooklyn, NY, was matched with CFS through the Oliver Scholars Program, which “prepares extraordinary African-American and Latino students for success at top independent high schools.” Four years after matriculating to CFS, Zozi has been matched with another amazing opportunity: through the QuestBridge Scholars Program, he has received a full scholarship to Brown University. Following a rigorous application process, Zozi learned on December 1 that he was one of 797 students selected from 14,491 finalists as a College Match Scholarship Recipient. Zozi hopes to pursue an engineering track at Brown.
“I’m still amazed I have been given such an opportunity. The support here at CFS is truly fantastic. I wouldn’t have made it this far without the support from the people here,” says Zozi.
Adds Tiffany Scott, Church Farm School director of college guidance, “Zozi is a true scholar. This humble young man has worked hard every day at Church Farm School and he is most deserving of this prestigious honor and scholarship.”
Zozi is the second Church Farm School student to earn a full scholarship through QuestBridge; in 2015, Ced Moise was accepted to Princeton University. Ten Church Farm School students have been named either QuestBridge College Prep Scholars or QuestBridge finalists since 2015. The program provides a variety of college admission resources, including college visits, workshops, coaching and more.
