Steven Yuh '15 Participates in NAfME Eastern Division Choral Conference

Steven Yuh '15 recently participated in the prestigious National Association for Music Education (NAfME) Eastern Division Conference Festival Chorus. The event is held every two years and is hosted by a local state Music Education Association. The 2015 Conference took place from April 9-12, 2015 in Providence, RI. There are many stages prior to being accepted into the All East Chorus, including participation at the District, Regionals and then State level. At Districts in late January, Charles Guo, Edward Kim, Steven Yuh, Daniel Shipman and Dong Whui Kim represented CFS among 160 singers from 40 public and private schools in southeast PA.

In order to move on to the Regional Chorus level, a student must place within the top 10 [out of 20] in his/her voice category. The following students qualified to go on to represent CFS at the Regional Chorus Festival on February 26-28 at Marple-Newtown High School:

Edward Kim, Bass 1 9th chair
Charles Guo, Tenor 2 5th Chair
Steven Yuh, Tenor 2 1st Chair
Steven then went on to perform in the PA All State Chorus Festival in Hershey, PA, from March 25-28. Steven was the only CFS student to make it to the All East Chorus, and only the third in CFS history to do so. Congratulations to Steven on his success, and to choral director Gary Gress on our stellar singers!
