Gregory Groves Appointed New College Counselor at Church Farm School

Church Farm School has appointed Gregory Groves as its new College Counselor. This role was established in 2014 at CFS, with Tiffany Scott, who recently served as the school’s Interim Head of School and is currently serving as its Associate Head of School, as the first to hold the position. The college guidance program at CFS attracts more than 80 unique college admissions representatives annually, with 100% of graduates going on to best-fit schools. It also tracks alumni in college through the Alumni Success Program, where more than 90% of CFS graduates persist through college (twice the national average for young men of color). Greg comes to CFS with a wealth of experiences in college admissions and counseling at schools around the country. Most recently, he worked in Admissions at Johns Hopkins University and in College Counseling at the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. At CFS, Greg will guide scholars through the college application process, help them identify impactful summer learning opportunities to strengthen their résumés and provide support to ensure their persistence and success in college.

“I am thrilled to join the CFS community. During my time at a partner school, I worked closely with CFS and witnessed its strong culture of brotherhood and the transformative impact it has on students. I am honored to now contribute directly to that mission. The college admissions process can be a very momentous chapter — where hope and possibility meet stress and uncertainty — and I look forward to walking alongside our young men and helping them navigate this journey with purpose, clarity and confidence.”

“Greg’s vast and varied experiences in schools – particularly within schools where many of our students matriculate from and to – will serve our scholars very well. We are so excited to welcome him to the community in this important role,” says Dr. Troy Baker, CFS Head of School.

Greg holds a BA in Sociology, with a certificate in African American Studies, from Princeton University, and a master’s degree in education policy from the University of Pennsylvania. He has held various roles at CFS partner Christina Seix Academy, most recently serving as Dean of Equity and Social Justice. His boarding school experience includes serving as Associate Director of Residential Admission at ʻIolani School in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, and as Associate Director of Admissions at the Peddie School in Hightstown, New Jersey. He will be relocating to the Exton area with his wife, Vivian, and their three-month-old daughter, Leilani.
