Kamal Najar, Taylor University

Kamal Najar, of Brooklyn, will attend Taylor University next year. His cottage parent, Wayne Bala, sums up Kamal: “Kamal, you are a great young man. You are always in a good mood, always smiling and happy. You are very respectful of your peers and faculty. You are an excellent student. Put all of that together and we have no doubt you will do great things, both in college and later in life. Take time to think about what you have accomplished and what you have done to get this far. Enjoy it. Make a list, mental or written down, and use it to keep moving forward.”

During his time at CFS, Kamal says, “I believe I have become a stronger leader and a person who can step up to be the man that I want to be. I have come to an understanding of who I am meant to be, a clear goal to focus all of my efforts, now I can shoot toward that goal. Next year I am looking forward to the new unique university experience. I also can't wait to meet all of my CFS friends in a diner and reminisce on our fun times at CFS.”

Says his advisor, Nicole Campbell, “Kamal is one of the funniest people I have ever met. He is a natural leader, but his leadership and humor come from a soft-spoken nature. I’ve only met a few people in my life as motivated as Kamal. He is the full package; personality and drive. I will miss Kamal so much after spending the last four years in my advisory, but I am so excited to see what’s in store for Kamal and his future.”
