Gary Akbar, Baltimore County Community College

Gary Akbar ’20 came to Church Farm School as a freshman from Baltimore. Next year, he will stay in his hometown to attend the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC), where he plans to study accounting and HVAC. His younger brother, Danny, will graduate from CFS in 2022. Gary is a strong and steady member of the Class of 2020. He excels at cross country, traveled to Massachusetts last summer for the Global Citizenship Institute and most recently, was an active student participant in womens’ history month planning.

His advisor, Ms. Boone, says, “Gary is what many would call ‘an old soul’-  mature beyond his years with a low tolerance for nonsense. He has a small but very close friend group at CFS, and has always proven to be honest and loyal in all of his relationships. Gary has already realized that “life” as a whole is more important that what happens around us day-to-day. I strongly believe that Gary will be successful in anything he puts his mind to because he is not afraid of failure.”
