Bueller. Benetton. Boomboxes. Boy’s Don’t Cry. What do they all have in common? If you guessed "things that were popular in the 80s," you are clearly a fan of one of the greatest decades of the 20th century. Even if you weren’t alive during the 80s, its influence on contemporary entertainment is everywhere: Tetris on Apple TV. Stranger Things on Netflix. Super Mario Bros out in theaters now! We’re excited to kick off Alumni Weekend 2023 with an homage to all things 80s on Friday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m. in our Founder’s Pavilion. In addition to food, cocktails, video games, raffles and a retro photo booth, we’ll have music by DJ Mr. B, songs by the CFS Choir and two hours of fabulous 80s hits by Basic Cable: A Tribute to MTV.
Our faculty and staff recently helped put together an "homage to the 80s" and one of the most iconic 80s directors and writers, John Hughes. Watch it here!
The event is open to anyone 18+ who’d like to join us and is "pay what you are able." There are a variety of sponsorships for those individuals and organizations who’d like to give a little more to support our longstanding mission of providing equitable access to independent education. Grab your hair crimper, leg warmers, Ray Bans, ripped jeans and some friends, and sign up today at www.gocfs.net/80s!
