Affordable Education
Thanks to the blessing of a strong endowment, which is among the largest-per-student for independent schools nationally, and a loyal group of generous donors, CFS is able to provide a first-rate education at an uncommonly affordable price.
CFS features tuition rates that are among the lowest in the nation for boarding and day schools; every student attending CFS is being subsidized by the school's endowment and donors.
2012-2013 Full Tuition and Fees
Day Student $17,172
Boarding Student $30,000
Tuition costs are inclusive of fees, books, room and board (for boarding students), meals, and the provision of a MacBook laptop computer. Incidental costs may include trip fees, music lessons, laptop insurance, and weekly allowance. A health insurance plan is available for seperate purchase for international students.
Financial Aid Program
CFS is committed to removing the financial obstacles to enrollment for all qualified candidates. Thanks to its endowment and committment to mission, CFS is proud to feature one of the most aggressive and comprehensive financial aid programs in the country. Consider the following statistics for the 2012-2013 school year:
- More than $3.8 million in aid was awarded.
- 90% of students are receiving some financial aid.
- On average, aid grants cover 80% of costs.
Financial aid is assessed on a need basis. To assist us in determining the amount of your family’s financial aid package, please complete the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS), and forward it to the School and Student Service. Please be sure to include CFS as a report recipient (Code number 2429). The PFS is included in all application packets and also available online at sss.nais.org. Questions about the PFS should be directed to SSS at NAIS: 800-344-8328 or sss@nais.org.
Most families will be expected to make some contribution to tuition. For families for whom even the school's expected contribution is too great, third-party scholarships may be available.
