    Jason Porter Selected as Church Farm School STEM Chair

    Church Farm School has selected Jason Porter as its new Chair of the school’s STEM Department. In this role, Jason will oversee Church Farm School’s STEM team and curriculum. Jason has a strong background in and passion for biology and STEM instruction and fostering inclusive and engaging learning environments.

  • Gregory Groves Appointed New College Counselor at Church Farm School

    Church Farm School has appointed Gregory Groves as its new College Counselor. This role was established in 2014 at CFS, with Tiffany Scott, who recently served as the school’s Interim Head of School and is currently serving as its Associate Head of School, as the first to hold the position. The college guidance program at CFS attracts more than 80 unique college admissions representatives annually, with 100% of graduates going on to best-fit schools. It also tracks alumni in college through the Alumni Success Program, where more than 90% of CFS graduates persist through college (twice the national average for young men of color). Greg comes to CFS with a wealth of experiences in college admissions and counseling at schools around the country. Most recently, he worked in Admissions at Johns Hopkins University and in College Counseling at the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. At CFS, Greg will guide scholars through the college application process, help them identify impactful summer learning opportunities to strengthen their résumés and provide support to ensure their persistence and success in college.

  • CFS Alumnus Jon Swider '14 Selected as Dean of Students

    Church Farm School is pleased to announce that Jon Swider ’14 has been selected as its next Dean of Students, succeeding longtime faculty member (and his former advisor) Art Smith who recently retired after 47 years at the all-boys boarding and day high school in Exton. In this role, Jon will serve as the primary advocate for students and is responsible for all non-academic student matters. He will report to the Director of Student Life and Athletics, Suni Blackwell, and will work closely with the Church Farm School administration, faculty and students to model and support a healthy, safe community.

    Legendary CFS Coach and Educator Art Smith Retires After 47 Years

    “Every child deserves a champion: an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can be.” – Rita F. Pierson
     
    These words formed the centerpiece to a letter Art Smith delivered to his peers in early April announcing his retirement in June after 47 years as an educator at Church Farm School. Those who had the privilege to work or coach alongside Art Smith at the 107-year-old all-boys boarding school in Exton, or who were lucky enough to be one of the thousands of young men he mentored in the halls and on the mats at Church Farm School, felt the loss immediately. But the community also felt other things: pride in knowing such a stalwart of the community, happiness that he was leaving to enjoy life with his family in Maine and, finally, awe at the passion one must have to spend nearly five decades in one location.

  • Small but Mighty: Church Farm School’s 18-Member Graduating Class Earns Impressive College Acceptances

    Surrounded by family, friends, faculty and fellow “Griffins,” the 18 members of the Church Farm School Class of 2025 were honored on May 25 during Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremonies on the private boarding and day high school’s Exton campus. While the graduating class is smaller than in years’ past, their accomplishments are sizable.

    Chief Advancement Officer Christopher Kramaric Named VISTA NextGen Superstar

    Christopher Kramaric, who joined the Church Farm School community on July 1, 2024, was recently named a VISTA NextGen Superstar. The 40 recipients of the award are recognized for being dynamic business and professional leaders, under the age of 40, who are shaping the Chester County's future. Christopher will be celebrated with other recipients at the Penn State Great Valley Conference Center on May 8.
